The Diaries of Little Red Hen is the second narrative group of paintings that reconsider traditional genres of still life, American Trompe-L,oeil, and portrait painting.

This cycle of approximately thirty paintings revolves around the character of Miss Red Hen and her quest to discover her own “Moxy”. In doing this she uses four components of inspiration DIVINITY, PERFECTION, PERCEPTION, and FREQUENCY. Red Hen goes to Miss Penny’s weekend estate (which also doubles as her foundation) to receive a gift for her work on the Museum capital campaign.
As it turns out Red Hen is clairvoyant and her chicken scratching hold formulas to the Elvis genome code. Believing that Elvis is the perfect cock for her she sets out to bring him back. In this process of rediscovering Elvis she actually discovers herself, and her own Moxy.

The Paintings are meant to encourage viewers to indulge in their own conclusions as to where to find inspiration as it pertains to Art and self. The story operates as both a parable for the ongoing “content/context” question of the visual arts and petition for greater openness in the multitude of paths one might take to achieving ones Moxy.
